About the Young Family

When I was young, during the Thanksgiving season,

When I was young, during the Thanksgiving season, my grandmother Lydia would pick pumpkins from the pumpkin patch. As a family, we would clean, roast, and puree the flesh of the pumpkin. Then, you guessed it, we would make fresh pumpkin pie (with crust from scratch too). I never though I would carry that skill onto the mission field. Today I cleaned, roasted, and pureed pumpkin so I could make my wife a pumpkin cream cheese birthday cake from scratch. There is no canned pumpkin here. Thank you to Mamaw Lydia and my mother Delilah for teaching me this so many years ago. Also, a special Happy Birthday to my sweet wife Cheryl. I love you and hope you had a wonderful birthday today.
