Cheryl and I took a survey trip in September to Timor Leste to meet the pastors, leaders, and Nazarenes there, and to get acquainted with the country and ministry. During that time, the Sealands Field hosted a seminar on the Occult. This is especially relevant for Timorese culture, and helpful for our participants.

Survey Trip

When we were asked about accepting a reassignment to Timor Leste, we were also invited to take a survey trip there. During this trip, we spent a week in Timor Leste, meetings with the pastors, leaders, and Nazarene there, exploring the area, making plans for our relocation.

New Assignment to Timor Leste

It had been too long since our last blog post.  Please forgive us for the lull in communication, but we have a good reason.  Earlier this summer, we were asked to consider a new assignment to the country of Timor Leste.  We accepted the assignment, but it required a few months of planning and preparation before we could make an official announcement. We like to officially announce that our family will be moving to Timore Leste in June 2018 to oversee the work there.

Our New Vehicle!

Praise the Lord!  With your generous support, we have raised and exceeded our goal of $7,500 toward a new vehicle.  Even better, we were able to purchase our vehicle in the country of our new assignment Timor Leste, where we will relocate in June 2018.

A Season of Conferences

The last 6 months could only be described as a “season of conferences”. We began in July with an NYI conference for the largest district on our field. Over 200 youth (aged 13-30) gathered for a time of worship, leadership development, training, district elections, and fun.

Grand Opening

For over 1.5 years Joe has been working tirelessly with the Bible College to update their educational technology. Before this time, the students of the campus shared one small wireless router and computer lab (3 computers, not all working).

The Grace of Giving

Our “global service” is only possible because of God’s grace and the generosity of our financial and prayer partners. We also know that this generosity is not easy, but takes sacrifice and a steadfast commitment at times. This has become even more clear to us in the last few months.
